Palladio's Villa La Rotonda (Vicenza)

The site
selected from Palladio
was a hilltop just outside the city
of Vicenza. In order for each room to have
some sun, the design was rotated 45 degrees for

each cardinal point of the compass... (from WikipediA)

The strictly geometry of plan
- the view of the project with a classical dome -
and the view of the actual look with the original 'scaled' dome,
more suitable to the venetian hill sweetness

Palladio
with a model

of the Villa in the
west room
and a
noblewoman

(from Veronese)
in the
nord room

You can note that the symmetry of the facades discloses a few little differences
